Introduction
Target Moisture settings are most relevant to Bulk Handler Companies (BHCs) or grain elevator companies.
This setting is currently only available and most applicable to Customers based in the USA and Canada.
Often, grain is harvested at certain moisture levels. Majority of grain sites will have drying facilities and the aim of drying is to get the grain moisture level closer to e.g. USDA standards, which in turn reduces the weight of said grain.
The Target Moisture setting will account for the reduction in grain weights (stocks) based on the nominated percentages and this will be accounted for at a Storage level.
To Set Up or Edit your Target Moisture Settings
- Click on your Profile Initials in the top right hand corner of the page and select the 'Target Moisture' option.
- On the 'TARGET MOISTURE' tab, click on the green '+TARGET MOISTURE' button and a window will appear on the right hand side of the page.
- Select and input the relevant details to set up your target moisture Percentages by Site, Storage and Commodity for a set period of time.
- Once done, click on the green 'SUBMIT' button to save.
Common Questions
Can I edit or delete the target moisture percentage for an existing commodity?
Currently, you cannot edit the target moisture percentage of an existing commodity in a specific storage.
However, you can delete the existing entry and re-add it with the correct percentage. Make sure to backdate the Start Date to reflect when you first began receiving grain.
To delete the target moisture of an existing commodity in a specific storage:
- Repeat Steps 1-2 above.
- On the 'TARGET MOISTURE' tab, identify the entry that you would like delete, click on the 3-dot 'Action' button and select the 'Delete' feature.
- The selected target moisture entry for a specific storage will be deleted.
From here, you can then re-add the target moisture of the commodity in a specific storage.
I have set up my target moisture settings and these are normally associated with drying charges. Does AgriChain capture drying charges?
Currently, the AgriChain platform does not capture drying charges. However, we are looking to enhance our platform to have this feature for our customers based in the USA and Canada.
