Steps to Create Fixed Grade Contracts on AgriChain

Introduction

AgriChain provides a seamless way to manage contracts efficiently. This guide explains how contracts work in AgriChain, including their creation, management, and associated features.


Step-by-Step Instruction to Create a Contract


  1. Log in to AgriChain using your credentials.
  2. Navigate to the Contract module from the left-hand side menu.
  3. Click on "Contract" (Green botton) on top right corner of the screen. 
  4. The contract creation form will open. Fill in all mandatory fields one by one.For help with field definitions, refer to this [Refer Article]
  5. Once completed, click on “Continue and Review” (bottom-right corner).
  6. On the Contract Preview screen, cross-check all the details.
  7. Click on “Submit” to proceed.
  8. A pop-up will appear with the option to email PDF copies of the contract:
    1. Select the counterparty’s email address to send them a notification.
    2. (Optional) Tick the "Acceptance Request" checkbox if you want approval from the counterparty.
    3. Click “Send Now” to trigger the email or “I’ll Do It Later” to skip it.
  9. The newly created contract will now appear with the relevant status. [Refer Article].

Can I edit/amend a contract after it's been created?

Yes, you can edit certain fields of a contract. [Refer Article]


How can I void the contract?

If required, Void a contract using the three-dot menu. Note that completed contracts cannot be voided unless an associated movement is reversed. Contract Status should be amongst Awaiting Confirmation/Confirmed/Open/Draft. [Refer Article]


How and when do I Close out the contract?

You will not be able to close out a Contract or Order if there are Movements with the Status 'Planned/Confirmed/In Progress' against it. As such, you will need to add inload data against 'In Progress' movements or Void any 'Planned/Confirmed' movements, before closing out the Contract or Order. [Refer Article]
