What are stock swaps?

Stock swaps allow users to substitute stock at one location for same stock at another location. Users can also attach freight differential for these swaps. Here essentially, the ownership of the stock does not change neither is any stock moved from one site to another. A swap simply allows stock at one location to be used in place of stock in another location.

How can one carry out a stock swap on AgriChain?

AgriChain makes stock swaps intuitive and simple. Users can swap their own stocks as well as stocks under their care.

  1. To do the swap, users must first locate the stock - this can be done from the either of the ownership views; My Stocks and Third Party Stocks.

  2. Once the stock has been located, the 3-dot menu on the right hand side will give users an option for "Stock Swap".

Upon adding details for the swap site and freight differential (if any) users can immediately execute the swap.

Where can I find previously executed stock swaps?

To view previously executed stock swaps users can head over to the "Stock Swaps" tab on the navigation ribbon

Here users will see all the stock swaps that have been carried out at the selected location:

Stock swaps come in pairs, since each swap consists of removal of tonnage from user ownership at the original site and addition of tonnage to user ownership at the swap site. Clicking on one of the swap line items will take users to the load listing for that site and stock combination.

Please note: Stock swaps do not affect the tonnage in Storages view and might cause an imbalance between the Ownership and Storages views. This can be corrected by creating a stock update on the storages view if required
