Adding / Editing your Shrinkage Rates

Introduction

Shrinkage is the the reduction of a commodity's quantity (mass) due to factors such as moisture, handling and waste, but does not include damaged commodity. Therefore, in stock management at sites and farms (on-farm storage), shrinkage and its associated rates are an important factor to consider for accurate inventory and stock levels.

On the AgriChain platform, you can set up or edit Standard or Special Shrinkage Rates.

• Standard Shrinkage Rates will be at the Site and Commodity Level for a set period of time.
• Special Shrinkage Rates will also be at the Site and Commodity Level for a set period of time but will only be applicable to specific Customers.

Add your Standard/Special Shrinkage Rates

1. Click your Profile Initials in the top right hand corner of the page, and select "Shrinkages" from the drop down menu.
2. To add a Standard or Special Shrinkage rate, select "Standard" or "Special" tab and click on the green "+SHRINKAGE" button. A window will appear on the right hand side of the page with the header "Shrinkage".a) For Standard Shrinkage: Input and select all the relevant details (Site, Commodity, Percentage, Start and End Date) and click on the "SUBMIT" button once ready. 

a) For Special Shrinkage: Input and select all the relevant details (Site, Commodity, Percentage, Start and End Date but also includes Customer - which is Company Name) and click on the "SUBMIT" button once ready.

Note: Your New Standard Shrinkage Rate will be added and the platform will auto-calculate and apply the shrinkage rate based on your selections.

Edit your Standard/Special Shrinkage Rates

1. Click your Profile Initials in the top right hand corner of the page, and select "Shrinkages" from the drop down menu.
2. Select "Standard" or "Special" tab, locate and click on the Shrinkage line you are wanting to edit or delete. Click the 3-dot action menu to the right of that line.
3. If you are needing to edit, select "Edit" from the dropdown menu. All fields will be locked for editing except for Site and Start/End Dates. Select "Confirm" to apply changes.
4. If you are needing to edit Site or Commodity, or needing to delete the line - select "Delete" from the dropdown menu. Click "Confirm" on the pop up warning to confirm deletion.

Why can't I edit existing Shrinkage Rates?

Shrinkage Rates of a specific configuration cannot be edited if it has existing loads matching the specific configuration. As such, we recommend setting up Shrinkage Rates before any inloads or outloads at your sites or farms to ensure accurate calculations and prevent exclusions.
