To add companies in your directory, simply head over to companies > Add ABN > Save
The companies directory is a list of all companies you interact with in the AgriChain system. To identify a company as a seller, buyer, consignor, consignee, logistics provider, etc in the AgriChain system, you will first need to add that company to your companies directory.
To add a company to your companies directory:
- Click on 'Companies' in the left navigation bar. You will then be brought to the companies directory linked to your profile.
- Click the 'Company' button in the top-right of the screen to add a company to your directory. You will be able to define the:
- ABN - you will need to enter the company's Australian Business Number. AgriChain uses the ABN as the 'unique identifier' for every company in the system. As AgriChain verifies the ABN with the Australian Business Register, it may take a few moments for verification to occur
- Entity name - will populate automatically from the Australian Business Register (linked to the nominated ABN)
- Refer screenshot below
- Once the ABN verification has occurred, AgriChain will determine whether the company details already exist within the global company directory and whether you have permission to edit these details.
- If the company is currently an AgriChain user, all company details fields will be locked and you will not be able to edit them. This is because the company controls their own details in the AgriChain system. If you believe their company details need amending, please contact the company directly.
- If the company is not an AgriChain user but has already been added to the global directory by another user, the company details will be automatically populated, but can still be edited by you. Please note that if you make changes to the company details, these changes will be system-wide and all other AgriChain users with that company in their directory will be able to see the changes you make.
- If the company has never been added to the AgriChain system by any user, you will need to enter the company details and complete their profile.
- The additional company details include:
- Business name - the business name of the company (may differ from the registered entity name)
- Primary business -the company's primary business operation (ie. broker, grower, logistics, trader)
- Logo - you can optionally upload the logo image for the company
- Address -the company's primary business address (this may be a PO box or the nearest township/locality)
- Phone/mobile - the company's primary business phone number (this may be a landline or mobile)
- Fax - the company's primary business fax number (if applicable)
- Website - the company's website (if applicable)
- Start of week - the company's start of invoicing week
- End of week - the company's end of invoicing week
- Payment term - the company's most common payment term for invoicing
- Brokerage fee type - if you are a broker, you may have the option to stipulate the type of fee you will charge the company.
- Once you have made the necessary changes, click the 'Add To Directory' button at the bottom of the form to save. The company will then be added to your companies directory.

Note:
- Depending on the primary business of the company you are adding (ie. broker, grower, logistics, trader), the company details fields may vary.
- If you can't find/see a company in the company/seller/buyer dropdown in the form for contracts, orders, movements, invoice etc you will need to add them to your directory before you can transact with them
