Troubleshooting Freight Movement Linking on AgriChain

Modified on Tue, 21 Jan at 4:04 PM

Introduction

Linking existing freight movements to contracts or freight order numbers is a crucial aspect of managing logistics on AgriChain. However, encountering difficulties in this process may stem from mismatches in certain details between the existing movement and the desired contract or order. This article addresses common issues and provides solutions to facilitate seamless linking.

Identifying Challenges

Mismatched Details

If you are not able to assign a freight movement to another order/ contract, it might be because one or more of the following fields don't match:

  • Customer name
  • Freight Provider
  • Commodity Type
  • Grade
  • Season
  • Consignor
  • Consignee
  • Tonnages (assigned), which should not exceed the maximum allowed tonnage of the contract

Invoiced Movements

Movements that are invoiced as part of a contract may only be assigned to another order in the same contract and not outside of it.

For each of these, the system will provide an explanation at the time of assignment.

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Compare the details of the existing freight movement with the target contract/order.
  2. Check the allocated tonnages of the existing freight movement against the maximum allowed tonnage specified in the contract.
  3. Adjust tonnages if necessary to ensure compliance with contract terms.
  4. Determine if the freight movement is already invoiced as part of a contract or order.
  5. In some cases, the invoice may need to be marked void before the movement can be assigned

FAQ

Q: What are the common reasons for being unable to link a freight movement to a contract or order?

A: Common reasons include discrepancies in details such as customer names, freight providers, commodity types, grades, seasons, consignors, consignees, or tonnages. Additionally, if the movement is already assigned to a contract/order, it cannot be linked to another.

Q: How can I ensure the successful linking of freight movements to contracts/orders?

A: Prioritize accuracy in details and verify tonnage allocations to align with contract terms.
