Introduction
In AgriChain, a 'Movement/Transfer Template' is used to bulk upload data on movements (loads) and title transfers. In the grain industry, this is commonly known as an acquisition file.
This template reduces manual data entry and helps AgriChain users maintain records of stock ownership at sites not using AgriChain.
Please note, you will still need to process movements (loads) and title transfers on the external sites’ nominated platforms.
There are two main sections to access and upload the 'Movement/Transfer Template':
- Stocks section
- Movements section
To bulk upload movements/transfers
- From the Stocks section
- In your AgriChain web account, go to your 'Stocks' section and select the 'MY STOCKS' tab.
- On the 'MY STOCKS' tab page, click on the 'CSV' button and select the 'Download Movements/Transfers Template' option.
- Open the CSV file and proceed to fill in the details of the movements (loads) and title transfers as per the instructions in the template.
- Once done, save the CSV file.
- On the same 'MY STOCKS' tab page, this time select the 'Upload Movements/Transfers' option.
- Select the saved CSV file and upload it.

- In 'Downloads', search and download the latest file with the title 'acquisition_upload'.
- Open up the file and scroll to the last column on the right to check if each movement/transfer has been successful. If unsuccessful ('Failure'), the file will detail the exact reasons and you may re-upload with the corrected details.
Common Questions
What should I check before uploading a Movement/Transfer Template that includes contract-based movements?
You must first ensure that the relevant Contract has been created and entered into AgriChain before uploading the template. If the contract does not exist in the system, the upload will fail.
Can I upload a Movement/Transfer Template if one of the counterparties is a paid AgriChain subscriber?
Nope. If either counterparty is a paid AgriChain subscriber, the system will not accept the acquisition file upload. In this case, the subscriber must enter the movement (load) data themselves via the AgriChain platform.
I don’t have the functionality to bulk upload Movements/Transfers. What should I do next?
Please use the 'Help & Support' button to submit a ticket requesting this functionality. A member of our team will review your request and get back to you promptly.
